Who we are
friendshipmania ("the app") is published by HomiLabs, an independent app studio in Pakistan ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Android app and this website. Questions about it: homilabs.smc@gmail.com.
HomiLabs also has a studio-wide policy statement. If anything here is more specific, this page wins for friendshipmania.
The short version
- You can use the app without an account. As a guest, we do not create an account for you and we do not store your names or results on our servers.
- If you sign in, we store your account details and the verdicts you save, so they follow you across phones.
- We never sell your data and we show no ads. The app has no analytics and no crash-reporting service.
- You can delete any verdict, or your whole account, from inside the app, any time.
- The app is for people aged 13 and over.
What we collect, and why
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account details Your name or nickname, email address, and a unique account ID. For password accounts, a password that only Firebase Authentication handles (we never see it). For Google sign-in, the name and email on your Google account (we never see your Google password). |
Only if you create an account or sign in. | To sign you in, show your name in the app, and let you reset your password. |
| Saved verdicts Your name, the friend's name as you typed it, the percentage score, the verdict title, the score for each category, and the date and time. |
Only if you are signed in. Each time you finish a quiz while signed in, one verdict is saved. | To show your history in "My verdicts". |
| Technical data Standard connection data such as IP address and device type, handled by Google as part of running Firebase. |
When the app talks to our Firebase services (sign-in and saving verdicts). | To deliver the service and keep it secure. |
What we do not collect
- Your individual quiz answers. Only the final score and category scores are saved, and only when you are signed in.
- Your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos, or advertising ID.
- Anything about your friend beyond the name you type. We do not contact them and they do not need an account.
Where it is stored
Account and verdict data is stored with Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore). Verdicts are held in Google's Mumbai (asia-south1) data-centre region; Google may process account sign-in data on servers in other countries. Google acts as our service provider. See Firebase's privacy information.
Our database rules allow each signed-in user to read and write only their own data. Connections use HTTPS.
Who we share it with
- Google (Firebase) — to run sign-in and storage, as described above.
- Nobody else. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
- People you choose. The Share button gives your scorecard image and a short message to Android's share sheet, so you pick which app and which person gets it. After that, that app's own policy applies. The Download button saves the image to your own phone's gallery.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
- We keep your account and saved verdicts until you delete them. We do not currently delete inactive accounts automatically.
- Delete one verdict: in the app, open My account → My verdicts and tap the bin.
- Delete your account and all data: in the app, open My account → Delete account & data. This permanently removes your profile, every saved verdict, and your sign-in record.
- No longer have the app? Follow the steps on our account deletion page.
- Copies in Google's internal backup systems can take up to about 30 days to disappear completely.
Your choices and rights
You can see your saved verdicts in the app, delete them, change nothing and stay a guest, or delete your account. If you are in the EU, UK or another region with data-protection rights (such as access, correction, deletion, portability, or objecting to processing), email us and we will help. We process account and verdict data because it is needed to provide the features you ask for (and, for optional sign-in, with your agreement, which you can withdraw by deleting your account).
Permissions the app asks for
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Internet / network state | Sign-in and saving or loading your verdicts. |
| Storage (Android 9 and older only) | Only so "Download" can save the scorecard image to your gallery. Newer Android versions do not need it. |
Sound effects and music play on your phone. The app does not record audio.
Children
friendshipmania's humor is cheeky and is not made for children. The app is intended for people aged 13 and over, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what the app collects (for example by adding ads or analytics), we will update this page and the date above before that version is released.
